Recently, I was a daily user of Facebook until I began reading novels especially the classics which has morphed into the idea of becoming a writer. I have developed a love of reading novels daily, usually an assortment of World and American history, to include biographies of historical people, usually two or three novels at a time. My love or addiction to reading as some have told me, has led me to blogging, all of which has taken me away from Facebook.
I have received messages from my Facebook family and friends inquiring about my status, since I have not been online responding to their comment and clicking the “like” button for their posts. I truly have great family and friends, although I believe they are not working diligently in their jobs since they post comment throughout the day at least five or six times with photos of their breakfast or lunch and telling of their upcoming evening or weekend activities.
Facebook is the ultimate blogger in self-promotion of everything personal. Most postings can be categorized as religious, political, inspirational or comments on the current media hot topics of the day. However posting a diary of their day from morning to night including a final statement of “goodnight” can be a little overwhelming especially when they shortly thereafter post their inability to fall asleep and later post they are still awake during the night. I have recently viewed post of doctors and dental appointments, along with the type of diagnosis and prescriptions to be taken.
I wonder if Facebook users are aware that family and friends may pass along your personal information. Of course, that will not happen! With so much private information freely given, who needs the NSA to snoop. Personal privacy laws were written to prevent government and individuals from collecting personal information but we give out freely what would take a search warrant to get.
The writers of these laws never would have considered or imagine a social media format where people give away their personal and private information willingly.
I have read several biographies and memoirs and none are as detailed as what Facebook users and other forms of social media provide. These social media platforms are the ultimate in ego self-promotion.
I believe no Facebook user will have any problem organizing and preparing their biography or memoirs for publication since it is already organized neatly by day, month, year with video and photographs.
Users of Facebook and other forms of social media are currently publishing their biographies and memoirs with photos and video. If you want a copy, there is no cost, and you don’t have to download it from the internet or go to a bookstore, just be a friend.
