Journaling, Reading, Blogging & Creative Writing

I was inspired to write today’s blog because of writers I follow here on WordPress.

Commencing January 2013, I started the New Year with a commitment to write about my life as a retiree in a personal journal. This was fairly easy since I’m very active either motorcycling, bicycling, kayaking photographing sunsets and Geocaching.

While rearranging my bucket list, I began listing books I wanted to read since I was a child. Who new reading would lead to an addiction of downloading books onto my kindle app, and thanks goodness I found books online through my local library.

This process led me to writing my personal reviews of the books I read and soon this led to blogging.

I have taken several creative writing classes online and in classrooms that have inspired me to write short stories. I write 2-3 hours a day, 4-6 days a week along with researching articles to build my knowledge on issues I write about.

What I find tremendously rewarding is crafting my thoughts to reveal what I want to say. Writing is a powerful tool that I have come to cherish and look forward to reading the writer’s blogs on this site and journals from around the world.

Read and write everyday and you are so much richer for the experience.

This post is great , it is all what I wish to do , I need to research more for my writing; there is so much I have not retained since studying and this annoys me when I am writing because it makes the post so much more interesting if one can bring arguments into one’s post and shows that one does have some knowledge of what they are writing about , I remember when studying thinking when I have time I will read such a book in order to find out more about a subject so perhaps now after reading this post it will inspire to sort out some structure in my writing etc , Thanks for the post it has been helpful and inspiring .
    Kind Regards Kathy.

Preciouspen, thanks for the comments. I’m still in love with writing and reading, and the stresses of which to do first. Lol!
