Todays daily prompt is “Opening Lines”

Use the first line, of the last song you listened to (on the radio, on your music player, or anywhere else)? Use it as the first sentence of your post.

Curtis Mayfield & The Impressions, “People get ready”, is the name of the song and the lyrics continue as, people get ready for a train is coming, you don’t no baggage you just get on board.

This song was written in 1965 a year after the Civil Rights March on Washington DC. The song speaks to those who are faithful and who are going to take the train of redemption and it speaks of the sinners who will not.

The soulful lyrics originally written as a gospel, is an anthem of faith that crosses all racial lines and multiple music genera’s all over the world.

With all the current turmoil taking place around the world, this song truly means a lot for all.
