In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Race the Clock.”
Here’s the title of your post: “An Offer I Couldn’t Refuse.”
Set a timer for ten minutes, and write it. Go!
It is the daily routine of life that keeps me fully grounded, with a walk or bicycle ride in the mornings. I’m soon reading, posting a blog and finally writing and research for my novels to rounds out my day.
I have many offers and activities that I refuse. However, the one offer I cannot refuse is the call of an interesting book. I keep several at the ready in my Kindle, and I stay out of direct view to avoiding hearing them call when I see my iPad.
M desires eventually succumb, and I settle into a trans-like state of mind falling into the clutches of characters and plots to melting my day slowly away.
After several hours, I feel the pull of writing tugging me, and since writing is my first love, I easily walk towards the outstretched arms of my desktop computer.
I have scheduled times for writing, reading and blogging, yet I seem to race constantly the clock, to maintain the program. There are times I succumb and I write, no matter what the clock says.
