“Tourist Trap”

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Tourist Trap.”

What’s your dream tourist destination — either a place you’ve been and loved, or a place you’d love to visit? What about it speaks to you?

Redwood National Park
Redwood National Park

During the summers of 2006 & 2007, I toured Redwood and Glacier National Parks. These two locations stirred my soul emotionally, as I was brought to tears while standing in awe of the beauty of Mother-Nature.

The overwhelming scent of natural Pine Trees in Glacier National Park was ever-present in the early morning hours as I toured the park by motorcycle traveling along the “Going to the Sun Road.”

I know there are many sites of grandeur around the world, however, people use various adjectives to describe the beauty of what they have seen. Nothing can take the place of standing in these National Parks where Mother Nature traps’ the souls of many tourists with her majestic beauty.

It was surely a little concerning when I stopped at the overlooks and looked into the valley. LOL!

The ice was just thawing as we drove. Looked like tons could break loose and fall.

I always imagined what it would be like to travel the road early in the season checking for its safety. The pure untouched snow and seeing the beauty and the peaceful quietness of the countryside.

The days of Wanderer are coming to a close as I plan to trade her in for an RV to continue my nomadic lifestyle as a writer.

I have found this same experience in so many places as well. The beauty that surrounds us is amazing if we only take the time to stop and taste our tears!

Yes, you so are correct. The more I enjoy nature, the less I want to be in large groups.
