In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “I Have Confidence in Me.”

Are you good at what you do? What would you like to be better at?

My retirement, life experience, and decades of confidence are three factors inspiring my belief and knowledge, I can become a better writer. Yet, there are some days, I find it uniquely difficult to focus on reading or writing, when my fishing pole, bicycle and kayak are pulling at my heart to play with them.

These are days, I have the decision making skills of a five-year old boy who cannot decide, what toy to play with. My decision is usually made easier, when I read an online blog and I’m guided by my adult heart to write, while the voice of the five-year old is overwhelmed by my reading.

I have found a confident solution. I take the laptop to the beach, in a back pack and after some fishing, I pedal my bicycle to a place, providing ample time to reflect and create the focus to write.

I share my time with all that I love and I have confidence, knowing I will do what is required to become a better writer.

  1. Great post. Enjoyed reading it. 🙂

  2. Great post. the most important thing about being a writer is writing and finding time and space to write. I find I have to get distractions such as housework or music out of the way before I start otherwise my time runs away from me and nothing gets done.

    1. I spent the last two hours trying to settle into a quite place along the Gulf of Mexico to write, however with no wind, leaving the mosquitos to eat like a bus defending upon a buffet.

The snow-birds and spring-breakers stole my favorite peaceful writing spots making them unattainable.
Only two weeks left and they will be gone and my beach and parks will be my own. LOL!

  3. You are very lucky!!!!! GO ON WRITING!!!!!!!!
