In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Placebo Effect.”

If you could create a painless, inexpensive cure for a single ailment, what would you cure and why?

If you could create a painless, inexpensive cure for a single ailment, what would you cure and why?

The placebo pill I would create will be the cure for procrastination. I know, your first thought becomes, is procrastination an ailment?

Procrastination is one thing everyone experience during their lifetime.

Basically, the pill will cure the procrastination, to wake up in the morning, to get to work, to go the gym, to visit the dentist, to complete house work, and to go to school. I believe the placebo pill will increase productivity worldwide. Yet, I’m aware someone will use various legal and illegal substances to increase the pills effect. Hyperactive people will run amok!

A perfect example of the how successful this pill would be, is revealed in my response to this WordPress daily prompt.

The prompt was initially posted Wednesday, May 20, and I procrastinated, with revising the structure of my posting, editing and re-edited, then I made some coffee, I continued my procrastination with some reading, some other writings and an afternoon nap. If, I had a procrastination pill, I would have completed this after my afternoon nap. But, my new 35-mm camera was delivered and I procrastinated the last four days.

On Thursday, May 21, I noticed the daily prompt titled “linger, ” so I lingered and procrastinated, going back to playing with my new camera, afternoon naps, reading several different books and other writings.

A placebo pill, may cure my procrastination, but lingering could be another pill and these postings would have been accomplished before today, Sunday, May 24.

It must be great to not consider a pill to cure an incurable disease. Yet your response to this prompt was creative.

I did think of the idea for a pill to cure many illnesses, but hopefully with everyone with the placebo, hopefully scientist all over would be motivated to push their work further to discover the cures for all illnesses.

        Good response.

People think terms of their world. If they have an incurable disease or are touched by someone in their world that is then they may consider that.

In the world of an Aspiring Writer it is procrastination. In my world it would be a pill against apathy. I just don’t see people caring about their health, their community, or their personal ambition.

We all live in the world that we perceive not necessarily reality.

I know that’s why I made my original comment. For me my health is very poor and I would have written to cure one of my diseases.

Hope it is not too personal, but what is your malady?

Well, I glad to see you are back online. How is the book coming along?

Editing, editing and more editing. I thought I was on the last edit when I saw more grammar mistakes and now I’m editing some more. 🙂

Now you are speaking like a true writer. The idea of writing is easy. Revisions, editing, re-writing are the true hallmark of a writer. Keep your head up and take one day at a time. It will all come together.

I’m current on high dose of Medrol a steroid to help me out of this flare. I just started on Imuran and I’ve been taking Plaquiline for years.

That is quite the drug regimen. I am not doctor and you don’t know me from the next guy, but there are 2 things I want to recommend.

One is raw garlic. The sulfur in it oxygenates the body. Slice it and put it on salads, rice, or any food you are eating.

Two is probiotics. Nutrient absorbtion is critical in immune function. 80% of the immune system is in the gut.

These 2 items have considerable affect on autoimmune issues and overall health.

I use garlic and I do eat yogurt. I try to limit my red meat intake any eat more veggies and fruit.

                1. advocare distributor Avatar

Great! Getting 3 cloves thorughout a day of raw garlic is a great consistent routine. Yogurt is great, although it is primarily one strain, lactobacilacidopholus and the immune system uses a myriad. So a dedicated probiotic is a good way to step that up. From there continue with veggies and fruit. What other supplements are you using?
