“All About Me”

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “All About Me.”

Explain why you chose your blog’s title and what it means to you.

The journey and metamorphosis of my blog title from its beginnings as “Retirement Lifestyle, ” which was to document the incredible life change and challenges adjusting to retirement. Although, I researched, planned, dreamed and fantasized about this period, of my life. My experiences made me extremely happy and overwhelmed with emotions at times, that I literally pinched myself in disbelief as to my status.

I was a nomadic traveler cross country traveler and adventurer utilizing my Honda Gold Wing Motorcycle. I camp and hiked some of the Western & Eastern US National Parks, prior to landing in Southwest Florida.

I became a dedicated “Beach-Bum” reading classic novels, and magazines without any interruption, and pure leisure on my side. I wrote a few reviews of the books I read on the “Good Reads” website and discovered some of the author’s WordPress blog sites. This discovery has transformed my daily beach-bum routine.
Four years past my retirement date, I thought my purpose in life was to relax, travel and slow the pace of life down. However, as the past forty years of life appeared to be pealed away like an onion, I discovered my passions to write & read that I either never recognized or simply suppressed.

It took several months for me to accept, appreciate, and understand, I’m an aspiring writer, poet, and now amateur photographer. My blog titles, are “An Aspiring Writer, ’ “Retirement Lifestyle” and “Nomadic Adventurer.” All three titles reflect my personality, and my passions as I continue to evolve, as my journey continues.

The Daily Post Prompt

  1. Hey better late than never. I hope that you are definitely enjoying this journey you are on now. I too aspire to write, photograph, and maybe even run my own company. Its funny how we say aspire to things we are already doing, I guess aspiring to me would mean be great, by my own definition in something that I like to do. Enjoyed the post I will have to drum something up here on the topic.
