“Dear Mom”

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Dear Mom.”

Write a letter to your mom. Tell her something you’ve always wanted to say, but haven’t been able to.

Unknown

My mother died several years ago, but, yet I have two sisters and several aunts who have taken up the mantel of “Mother.” They checked in on me from to time to time and reminded of my job, always be a gentleman.

I have called and written emails to my mothers’ advising them of my Aspiring Writers “WordPress” site. As of this date, only one has ventured into the land of reading my blogs or comment on my writings.

I believe some of my mother’s find accessing their computers a little intimidating for reading blogs. Yet, using the computer to play online games like “Candy Crush” provides more entertainment.

I have come up with a plan, to encourage reading within my family and that will be the handwritten letter, mailed with a stamp. Since most of my mature relatives have yet to master the use of email or “Facebook.” I’m looking forward to reading some interesting letters.

The only other options they have in their communications arsenal is the telephone. I know in the end I will receive a phone call from all, in response to my letters.

But, just in case, I love you, moms!

So sweet…i guess your moms want something more traditional like the old hand written letter. We are on the fast lane of electronics and they just want to slow down and enjoy their pace. Looking forward to reading more of your posts.

Thank you for you comments. Yes, my Mom’s do appreciate the handwritten letter.

I rarely, if ever read my family’s personal blogs and/or writings, and they rarely read mine. It feels like an invasion somehow, even if it’s on a public forum. We are all on Facebook though, so there’s that. ^_^

I know the feeling. I have not used FB hardly since I began writing the blog and my other writings.

I’m just the opposite. 🙂 I’m on Facebook every day because that’s where everyone else is. I know that at least two of my grown kids have blogs, but we don’t read each other’s blogs for the reason mentioned above. But we do check up on each other via Facebook. I’ll read my friends’ blogs, but not my family’s. Weird, huh?

Now that is unique. I have three-hundred plus friends on FB and less than five read my blog and its periodic. Lol!

Again, we’re opposies thete. I think I have 80 friends on Facebook, and they are exclusively personal friends and family. Whereas most of the people who read my blog have never met me in real life.

It seems we have much in common … including family that chooses not to follow our blog ramblings 🙂
