“Always Something There to Remind Me”

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Always Something There to Remind Me.”

A song comes on the radio and instantly, you’re transported to a different time and place. Which song(s) bring back memories for you and why? Be sure to mention the song, and describe the memory it evokes.

Lately, I have heard the comment “Song for the summer of 2015.” Each time I hear the comment, I immediately think of my all-time favorite summertime songs.

My top three songs of summertime begin with number three. 1999’s Len’s ” If You Steal My Sunshine.” Number two is the offical song of summer in the city of Philadelphia PA. Will Smith & D. J. Jazzy Jeffs’ 1991’s, “Summer Time.”

My number one song played continuously during the summer of 1973 when I was mere lad riding my 10- speed bicycle, with a large radio attached to the center post listening to the Isley Brothers, “Summer Breeze.”

A soulful rendition originally song by Seals and Croft in 1972. I was a middle schooler and I was “So Cool.”
