“Tattoo….You?”

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Tattoo….You?.”

Do you have a tattoo? If so, what’s the story behind your ink? If you don’t have a tattoo, what might you consider getting emblazoned on your skin?

Oh, my “tattoos,” I have many types, sizes all over my body.

I have family members, friends, an ex-wife and ex-girlfriends who have tattoos. I considered getting a tattoo, to represent my military career, my law enforcement career, memorializing deceased family members and close friends.

Now, I’m not into pain and I’m not afraid of needles. But for me to sit and have someone stick me several thousand times over a period of hours is not my idea of an enjoyable day.

What I considered tattoos on my body were birthed, of my life’s more colorful moments. They include, a childhood illness, many adolescent pimples, falls, accidents, ill-advised suggestions resulting in injury, and a bad decision leading to one surgery.

In the end, I have visual scars and marks on my body that are daily reminders of my tattooed life.

Same here. I’ve seen the old hula girl tattoos that after time no long hula. I guess they all seemed like a great idea at the time.

I have one and I would have more if my health didn’t get in the way. They are addictive. My oldest daughter has about 14 and my youngest now has 3.

Each of my adult children has one each and they are happy with them. However, I suspect as my life continues, I will have more life scars to remind me of great and bad times. Lol!

All my tattoo’d friends say that there is something addictive in the ink – once you have one it’s really hard to stop!

I have friends say the same, although the two and three hundred dollars per tattoo, is hard for me to consider.

“…my tattooed life.” What a great line! This simple little statement could be developed into a very interesting story. Intriguing…

I have many short stories based on tattoos. As the months and years progress, I will publish these stories as an ebook.
