“From The Top”

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “From the Top.”

If you had the chance to be reborn, would you choose to return as your present self, or would opt for a fresh start? Tell us about what motivates your choice.

carlbardquote1

I would never change my life to be reborn because, the culmination and the sum of my life experiences have made me successful, including the pitfalls.

I know and have encountered many people who suffered through horrible circumstances. Although their life’s journey eventually passed the terrible times, they carry the scars of the past to overcome and strive with great success moving towards they’re future.

Many people suffer daily and will never overcome their past. They dream and imagine of being reborn to enjoy a better life.

As a child, I was fortunate to enjoy the exposure of wisdom, of my elders who I lived among on a daily basis. They viewed their world believing and knew their life could be worse than their past, and present.

Prayer and faith motivate me with the hope of a better tomorrow to move forward into future, because being reborn is not an option.

Marty, retread the last line in this blog. Think you meant to say wasn’t an option?

I agree with everything you said. No matter what tough times I’m in now I believe there is a purpose and the past ones have brought me here. Everything is as it should be, even with mental illness and lonely nights, bc there’s also mind blowing moments lIke concerts and meeting melissa etheridge and seeing u2 and connecting with bono and his pain. And days of sunshine with friends and funny tv shoes and music that moves my soul, like lana del rey. And the simple moments when my cat cuddles up next to me and I hear him purring like a motor boat! Yes, mixed in are days of I hate my life, I wish I was someone else, how will I pay that bill? But I can’t have only one; life is a mixed bag of mystery and joy and pain and fear, and each day I have an opportunity to learn, try something new, and be better and give more.

As much as I would want to change my crippled legs and body, it would probably mess up my karma forever. Lol
