In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Home Turf.”

Name five things in your house that make it a home.

The foundation for a house is love while also enjoying where you live, and who you share your space with to make it a home.

Within the category of love includes family, hopes, and building dreams for the future. With love at the top of the list, the second essential for a home are family photos and keepsake items.

The following items allows me to enjoy my home, and they are the bathroom, kitchen, and air-conditioning. Although, the screened lanai is number six, it makes my world enjoyable.

Living in a subtropical area, I have considered emergency evacuation a strong possibility. So, when bad weather threatens, I quickly secure my photos, and keepsake items in several plastic containers and move to a location, I can call home.

As long as it has excellent plumbing, a kitchen, air-conditioning, and the optional screened lanai, it is home.

Whether a home is a tent, RV, apartment, condo, or a house of brick and wood,
as long as I have the essentials listed above,
it is my home to enjoy and love.
