A Storybook Day

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “A Storybook Day.”

You have to spend one day as or with your favorite fictional character. Which one would it be and what would you do?

My storybook day began before sunrise when I decided to ride my bicycle to the park to take some morning photos of the sunrise. Twenty minutes later, after setting up my tripod, I take several photos when I look over my shoulder to see billowing rain clouds.

I checked my phone’s weather app and see the coming rain on the radar. I’m was upset since the past couple of days, the weather in Southwest Florida was not being cooperative allowing me to take photos.

I quickly pack my gear and begin my two-mile peddle back home. With only one traffic signal, I’m hope the morning traffic was light enough for me to cross quickly to the paved bicycle path.

As I approached the traffic signal, I use “The Force” to control the signal light to my favor, and I quickly peddled across. I soon began feeling rain drops. Knowing I have a mile to go, I said to myself, “I will try to beat the rain.”

Just after my thought, “The Star Wars” character, “Yoda” appears on my handlebars. With his accented voice, he tells me. “Do or Do Not, There is no Try,” and he suddenly disappeared.

I begin to push my self, pumping faster and faster and soon I was arriving at my front door before the sky opened up with a torrential down pour.

My storybook day was not so unique as I achieved a cardio workout because “The Force” is within me.
