When life gives, your lemons make something else. Tell us about a time you used an object to resolve a tricky situation in an unorthodox way.

Every morning awakening with eyes opened, breathing, and living without the aid of others or any devices is the best part of my day.

So, as my morning continues, everything else was simply a downhill slide, from the moment my feet touched the squishy carpet, to looking for the red digital illumination of time. The sound of thunder and a flash of lightning brighten the room, indicating why the electricity was possibly out.

I searched for my clothes in the dark and dressed. When I stopped at the front desk, to turn in my room card, the clerk apologized for the power outage. I told her about the water on the carpet, and the maintenance worker rushed to the room. The clerk refunded my room minus local and state taxes.

I drove away during a heavy rain storm and because of the electrical outage, breakfast was not to be. So, I continued to the airport for my flight, and while I drove, water began to leak onto my carry-on luggage from the passenger side windshield.

When I returned the rental car, the clerk refunded the rental cost minus local and state taxes.

After passing through the security screening, the plane boarded early, but, as soon as I settled in for my two-hour flight, the pilot announced the take-off would be delayed for at least an hour.

I sat calmly thinking of my recent hometown visit to attend the funeral, of a lifelong friend and the lemons dealt me earlier.

I mixed all of those thoughts with my positive attitude, smiled and made lemonade. 🙂
