I love the analogy in this blog post, it is insightful and full of meaning. 🙂
“A woman is like a tea bag. You can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.” ~Eleanor Roosevelt
Put me in hot water, and I become a very dark, brew-ding, strong, and although sweet, quite bitter… I might be black currant tea.
The black currant as a crop suffers many pests… as do I… suffer the pestering of my own spawn who through no fault of their own, leech me dry of funds in order to educate themselves in their un-grant-able educations. Sadly, this practice is typical among pests of the middle-class. These pests are penalized because they have a hard working parent who by virtue of her middle class status, shoulder the full financial burden of education, whereas those whose work ethic is not quite as honed receive relief in the form of government aid and grants.
Yes, I’m still complaining about college costs.
