This past weekend I attended a family reunion with over 100 people who have gathered every two years for over the last 20 years arriving from every corner of the US and the world.

In all of the years, there has never been anyone who was intoxicated, argumentative or any form of animosity. Everyone has always greeted one another with kisses, joyful hugs, smiles.

Children play together with reckless abandon until their tired little bodies can’t go anymore.

Over the years I have seen the children grow to become educated, productive honored adults, bringing happiness to my heart. Although death has taken some family members, we all believe it is better to gather for a family reunion instead of a funeral.

I’m proud and inspired, to be a part of the Goode, People & Clay families, and I love you all.
