I was born and raised in the Adirondacks in Upstate New York, and the first time I saw photos of a beach, I dreamed of living on an island.
As a teenager and college student, I was a formidable long distance runner with the agility of a Gazel, but my burning desire to live on an Island continued to consume my dreams and fire my soul.
I have always been tardy for everything in my life like school, church, Boy Scout meetings, college classes, my jobs, my first, second and third weddings. But, I was purposely tardy for all three divorce proceedings.
40-years ago I relocated to Moore’s Island Abaco, in the Bahamas which is definitely off the Beaten Path, and ever since, I have lived on island time allowing me to appreciate life on my terms with a calm and peaceful feeling in my life.
At age 75, I still run around the island daily for my exercise, but my agility is not what it use to be, but I live on island time.
