As the days of March wind down and I continue editing, re-editing and repeating the process of my short stories. The recent cold weather in Southwest Florida provoked a wrinkle in my ability to sit outside and write. So, I traded in my shorts, tank top, and flip-flops for my long pants and long sleeve shirt.

The feel of the cloth around my arms and legs captivated my thoughts of the hiking trails like the forested canopy of the Long Trail, near Rochester, VT and my planned trip to Silver City NM to attend the states Trail Days events that are near a section of the Continental Divide Trail.

Since my return to Southwest Florida, I had to adjust to the loud noises and traffic of Florida. However, I’m looking forward to fewer people, less traffic and the quiet sounds of nature.
