Mountain Goat Coffee & Bakery

During my travels east across Washington State from the coast, I stopped at my friendly neighborhood campground, the Cascades near Packwood, Washington, where large bull and cow Elk wander about town during the day or night.

When I spend the day at the local internet coffee shop and or the local library writing or reading, I usually take a short drive of about two football fields to witness the Elk gather on the front lawn of the Cowlitz River Lodge, posing for photographers.

I left Packwood east along route 12, a scenic drive towards Yakima, Washington, which provided great mirrored lake photographs.
