Arctic Fox 22G

The summer of 2022 marked two events in my life.

The first was I became 60, born in the 60s.

The second is realizing and appreciating I’m happier with my lifestyle as a nomadic traveler who has fallen deeply in love with day-hiking and backpacking along quiet tree-forested trails.

During my leisurely walking/hikes, I discovered the trail invokes a sense of spirituality within me as I became more reflective with my thoughts. I find it hard to write or blog about my trial experiences, but I will write more about that later.

My last three blog post has taken me toward the world of poetry, culminating with my visit to the University of Pennsylvania to attend the Modern Poetry 10th anniversary marking ten years of online presentations.

But, every time I returned to my tear-drop RV home of happiness. I would cook a meal and felt I was missing about two feet of cooking prep area and one foot of desk space to be enjoyably comfortable.

This past May marks my sixth year of full-time nomadically traveling with several different travel variations and styles. The video collages reveal the various areas primarily within the U. S. National Parks I have visited.

During the summer of 2022, I began researching my next home when I was not out on a trail. By October 1st, I left my Campground base in Spotsylvania, VA, for destinations of Twins Falls, Utah, Baxter, MN, and my final destination of Medford, Oregon, where I took possession of Foxy, pictured below.

My 2022 Northwoods Arctic Fox, 22G RV trailer is twenty-three feet and one inch from hitch to rear bumper, weighing in completely dry at 4936 lbs. The hitch weight is 599 lbs, and I can max out the carrying capacity at 7500 lbs.

I now enjoy a walk-around queen-size bed, and a larger dining table seating area, with enough countertop space for meal prep space, allows me to expand upon my plant-based lifestyle.

I’m enjoying my extra desk space and looking forward to boondocking in forested areas for two or more weeks with fifty gallons of fresh water, forty-two gallons of grey water, and thirty-five gallons of black water.

I have experienced boondocking at a local Harvest Host Winery in Medford, OR, called Eden Valley Orchards and Winery, where I enjoy pear wine and cider.

I’m looking forward to off-grid living in or near an Arizona pine forest this winter to enjoy some quiet morning walks.

Oh, what is boondocking? It is when I locate forested areas in a state or National forest and camp without electricity, water, and sewer hookups.
