I walk among and upon single grains of sand surrounded by desert landscapes of sage and cactus.
I walk under single leaves attached to limbs belonging to the trunk of an aged tree older than I, surrounded by a forest more archaic than the trees.

I, individually, am insignificant, absorbing visuals destressing my mind and soothe my soul.

I, like any insect, crawling or flying, me hiking a trail pass one another, some attracted to my perspiration, others ignoring my presence.
Family and friends fear wild animals of any type. I observe their presence, keep my distance and move along the trail.

Nocturnal wild animals scurry about, hooting, their presence, and signaling their prey; I never see either.
Curled inside my sleeping bag, within my tent, I signal nature’s nocturnal animals when I sleep.
Lovely and wise.
