Several years ago, while visiting my two sisters, who have become mothers, with the looks, direct speech, tenacity, and tone of voice to capture my attention as my mother did.
They listened to me talk of my travels, touring the National Parks, day hiking, and backpacking.

Although I’m the elder brother, my sister, two years younger than me, asked the question with the voice of a mother.
“Boy, where are you sleeping when you are not traveling?”
The tone and inflection were eerily familiar as I stammered to explain how comfortable my car seat was when completely reclined.
She is well aware of my past and current fiscal past aka cheap lifestyle as she explained the importance of a good night’s sleep.

She told me in detail, the health benefits of a good night sleep, and she ended with ,”You need a real bed rather than one you climb a ladder into, a cot, or an air mattress.”

But, honestly I dreaded pulling anything behind what I drove as I considered a motorhome but I was not ready to drive anything larger than an SUV.

My last RV, “Maxy,” was sufficient to provide me with what I needed, yet most importantly, it had a bed with a mattress that made my sister/mother happy.

But, my current RV “Foxy” has become my full-time RV home, and when I awake to a warm interior on a cold morning, I think of my sister’s meaningful suggestions of me needing a real bed.
I say to myself, yes, mama.
